Is this due to my new switch being plugged into another switch a old linksys?

Hello Eric,

An old linksys. Shoud I disable BPDUGuard on that port?

Yes - disable both PortFast and BPDUGuard on that port. Be careful about disabling both of them.

Best regards,

Peter

Eric,

This message tells you that the device connected to the Gi1/0/45 port of your Catalyst is sending BPDUs while the Gi1/0/45 port is supposed to be connected to an end device and is expected to never receive BPDUs. What is connected to the Gi1/0/45? Is it a switch that runs STP?

Best regards,

Peter
