I just need to understand this policy map configured on my router. We are upgrading our link and I might have change the CIR and bandwidth allocation on this policy map. The bps shown here is it bits per second or bytes per second ?
Policy Map VPN_PRIORITY
Class RESTRICTED
Traffic Shaping
Average Rate Traffic Shaping
CIR 500000 (bps) Max. Buffers Limit 1000 (Packets)
Class PREFERRED
Bandwidth 100 (kbps) Max Threshold 64 (packets)
Class OFFICE_VPN_ENDPOINTS
Strict Priority
Bandwidth 650 (kbps) Burst 16250 (Bytes)
Class class-default
set dscp default
Traffic Shaping
Average Rate Traffic Shaping
CIR 700000 (bps) Max. Buffers Limit 1000 (Packets)

Hi,
If you sum all bandwidth assigned to each class (whether it is minimum bw or max bw) it is coming out as 1950 kbps (1.95 mbps). So looks like policy-map was designed for 2 mbps link. If you change bandwidth in same proportion to 3 mbps link , below policy-map can be used
500 + 700 + 100 + 650 = 1950 kbps = 1.95 mbps
750 + 1050 + 150 + 1000 = 2950 kbps = 2.95 mbps

Akash

Thanks Walter. I just need help in understanding this policy map better. I'm okay with the class maps and the ACL's associated with it. Its just that we have upgrade our link to 3Mbps and I believe this policy map was based on the bandwidth being 1Mbps. What I want to do is change it to reflect the bandwidth upgrade
Thanks
