Hi Minu,

Can you explain in details.

If i understood correctly, you wanted to know, whether the router is listening for tcp port 5555. Is it correct?

If so, you can do the following from any host which has ip connectivity to the router, to test this.

Issue a telnet to the router ip on port 5555.

For example:

from dos pronmpt issue the command

telnet 1.1.1.1 5555

If the router 1.1.1.1 is listening on tcp port 5555, then you will see that the telnet screen opens up and a cursor on the screen.

If the router is not listening on port 5555, then this telnet attempt will throw you a error, stating that the router is not responding.

Hope this helps.

Hi Minu,

Kindly explain what exactly you are looking for?

If you want to check from router whether a port on PC is open.

You can do the same step as follows.,

from the router, issue the following command

telnet

If the port is open in the PC, the telnet will succeed.

You will get a messge similar to the one provided below.

Trying , ... Open

Revert back if you are looking for something else.
