Hi All,

I am facing a problem

I have to 6500 switches and they are connected together with gig port.

I have gig modules on both.

The gigport on the Core switch is going to errdisable.

When i check the Distribution switch there are lot of input errors.

I have changed the gig slot on distribution ,changed the fibercabe, changed the POTS.

But the result is same.

Both switch have same fiber connection

and yes this is L3 port on STP involved.

Could any one help me out.

Thanks in advance

Hi Can you paste/attach config, of both ports??

This is 10G port. Also paste/attach show interface of other side of switch.

Try putting both interface speed and duplex to autonegotiation (do not hardcode them).

Are both interface MTU the same?

Hello Vishwa,

look at the core switch log messages with sh log and try to understand why the port is put in errdisable.

error levels are less then 1% on distribution and shouldn't cause the errdisable.

What is the error rate on the core switch side ?

This is a layer 3 link, have you configured UDLD also ?

Hope to help

Giuseppe
