Port open for pptp

Hi i'm using a cisco 857 router, my problem is when i connect to other network using windows pptp from our internal to outside i can't connect. It only reach up to verifying username and password then it will be cut off and it will give me error 619. A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed.

and 2nd problem is when i connect vpn from outside to our internal office. I can ping and remote everything but i can't access our wss site at my internet explorer that is using port 80.

Kindly check the attached config of my router

Thanks for your advise

Re: Port open for pptp

Hello Marc,

see RFC2637

There are two parallel components of PPTP: 1) a Control Connection

between each PAC-PNS pair operating over TCP and 2) an IP tunnel

operating between the same PAC-PNS pair which is used to transport

GRE encapsulated PPP packets for user sessions between the pair.

Section 1.3

http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2637.html

So both must be allowed to have a successful PPTP vpn.

GRE uses 47 GRE General Routing Encapsulation [Li]

http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2784.html

http://www.iana.org/assignments/protocol-numbers/

You need to update the inspect rules accordingly.

Hope to help
