POS bandwidth

Simple question; When looking at the results of a "sho interface" on an GSR OC12 POS I see "bandwidth 622000Kbs" and "available bandwidth 598962 Kbs". What is the available bandwidth as opposed to bandwidth?

Additionally.....what is the rule of thumb as to when I would begin to see degradation far as a utilization percentage?

What's available is the # indicated under the available bandwidth :)

You can modify this # by using max-reserved-bandwidth command

You will see degradation if your interface is running at 80% of more for long period of times.
