I have a question regarding the pap capability between router
I know that in order to set up pap you just have to exchange a similar password between routers but if my password is not similar it's working is there a case that defies this theory and why?
This is a quote from cisco networking academy :
"PAP provides a simple method for a remote node to establish its identity using a two-way handshake. This is done only on initial link establishment. The hostname on one router must match the username the other router has configured. The passwords do not have to match. "
