Problem EtherChannel beetween 7201 and Catalyst 2960

I have cisco 7201 (Version 12.4.20T)  with on-board  4 GigabitEthernet interfaces:

      GigabitEthernet 0/0 and GigabitEthernet 0/1 bundled in one logical link  PortChannel 1 and connected to Сisco 3750;

      GigabitEthernet 0/2 and GigabitEthernet 0/3 bundled in one logical link  PortChannel 2 and connected to Сisco 2960;

PortChannel 1 is  working  fine, but PortChannel 2 is working strange.

If I make show interface GI 0/2 adn GI 0/3 , then showed :

show int gi 0/2
GigabitEthernet0/2 is up, line protocol is up

     0 unknown protocol drops
     0 babbles, 0 late collision, 0 deferred
     0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier, 0 pause output
     0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out

It's show that in Interface Gi 0/3 Input rate is 0 input packet.

If I shutdown Gi 0/2, then communication is lost and not connectivity.

And If I shutdown Gi 0/3 then communication is fine and having connectivity.

Have anybody had same problem?

Re: Problem EtherChannel beetween 7201 and Catalyst 2960

Hello V.rrail197,

your configuration is rather peculiar on a router like C7201 interfaces are usually used as stand alone routed interfaces.

Having created two port-channels each made of 2 GE ports can be part of the problem.

What happens if first bundle is shut or its configuration is removed?

The C3750 is multilayer capable so it may the right choice for intervlan routing without doing it on the C7201.

Hope to help

Re: Problem EtherChannel beetween 7201 and Catalyst 2960

Hi !

I was shut first bundle, It does't happen something.

I need to configure second bundle in the router, Cisco 3750 is  used another role in the network.

Do  you have any ideas?
