We have a 40 and a 10Mb Internet link to our provider and 2 public subnets with bgp peers over both links. We are able to use a route-map to send a community with a preference of 90 to the peer on the 10 Mb link to cause the provider to route to our 40 Mb link since it has the default preference of 100.
Is there a way to have the provider send one subnet on one link and the other subnet through the other bgp peer?
We want to still have each link be a backup for the other link.

You can send lesser MED to your 40Mb link. Alternatively, you can prepend your AS to routes advertised on 10Mb link.
Hope this helps.

As suggested above, your can send MEDs and ask the ISP to comapre them.
Alternativley you can aks them to set local-pref on their side to influence the routing
HTH, rate if it does
