Hello,
We have a network with metroethernet services. We are using Q-inQ tunneling to implement P2P services to interconnect two facilities of a same institution. We are growing and now we have a ring topology. Until now we had disabled the MAC learning address process because each node had only 2 ports in the transport VLAN. The Ethernet frame came from on port and it was forwarded through the other port so learning MACs had no sense. But now some nodes will have a third port in the VLAN to implement the redundancy path by STP. The question is that at the same time STP will block ports an only one path will be available to the root bridge (1 core port will be forwarding frames). In this nodes will be sense enable mac address learning?. I don’t found any reason to enable it. Any ideas?.
