QOS 4 BAND MODEL

Hi all

Im looking into creating a standard 4 band qos model for all my wan routers

they would be

Platinum - voice

gold - video

silver - sap / lotus notes

bronze - best effort

There is a 10meg interface on the router.

2 meg priority for voice

3 meg at least for video

3 meg minimum for sap / lotus notes and 4 meg max

The rest fair queued for remaining bandwidth

can someone give me an example config for this ?

and is this a good idea as a standard model for QOS or is there a better way ?

cheers

Carl

To provide an example, you would need to mention your WAN devices and their installed IOS (QoS features and capabilities vary).

Is your proposed model good?  That's hard to say without knowing your network application's service requirements.  There also other things such as whether your video is real-time or streaming.  Was your priority for voice just for bearer traffic or for bearer and signalling traffic?  What codecs are your voice and video going to use?  Any bulk traffic?  Etc.
