Hi all
While to shape to 200Mb on a 7206VXR, I hit this limitation. Browsed and still browsing cisco website for any workarounds or info in vain.
config-pmap-c)#shape average ?
<8000-154400000> Target Bit Rate (bits per second), the value needs to be multiple of 8000

Traffic shaping limits the rate of transmission of data. You can limit the data transfer to one of the following:
A specific configured rate. A derived rate based on the level of congestion
check this link for Policing and Shaping.

Hi there
Thanks for the reply, but I think I have not made myself clear.
The problem is similar to the follwoing bug
CSCeb08858. I cannot shape to more than 150Mb.
This bug is not menmtionned for teh IOS I am running, hence my question.
Thanks
Sam

Hi --- The OC3 limitation (155mb/sec) was in 12.3(X) code ---we are now running 12.4 code --- Version 12.4(5a) to be exact....and this is now up to 2Gig for the limit on the policer:
Router(config-pmap-c)#police ?
<8000-2000000000> Bits per second
cir Committed information rate

Hi there
This is great!
But why so many features less than older IOS? It is a quite restricting on terms of functionalities.
But I guess I can put it to the test.
Thanks
Sam
