QoS

I was assigned a tasked to configure QoS on our backbone link to the internet to provide dedicated bandwidth to our special customers(i work at an ISP). I am thinking of using CAR, would this be the right option? e.g. 512kbps for each customer.

Re: QoS

Here is an example of a config I've used for an ISP before;

!

access-list 101 permit 192.168.1.1 0.0.0.0

!

class-map match-all 512customer

match access-group 101

!

policy-map QoS

class 512customer

bandwidth 512

!

interface multilink1

service-policy output QoS

!

You have many options when it comes to QoS and really depends on your current infrastructure and complexity.

Re: QoS

Hi

In addition to Adam's post you can try using CAR for individual customers which can make the process simple wrt to the interface on which they are connected at your end.

In case of policy map you may need to allow the network blocks of respective customers and create a new policy whenever you plan to do so..
