Re: Query about sh version command

Hi

The DRAM of 64Mb is shared between Main memory and IOMEM. IOMEM is used for packet processing. So

49152 = Main memory

16384 = IOMEM

No there is no relation as such between the 16384 IOMEM and the 16384 flash.

Re: Query about sh version command

Hi

49152K/16384K = 64Mb which is the amount of RAM the router has. RAM is memory used by the router to perform it's tasks.

125K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory - amount of memory used for configuration of router in NVRAM

16384K bytes of processor board System flash - how much flsh memory you havem in this case 16Mb. Flash is used to store the IOS images.

Re: Query about sh version command

Hi Jon! Thanks for the quick answer

I need certain clarification here.

Why doesn't router show 64 mb RAM straightaway, instead of showing it in part i.e 49152K/16384K

Also, is there any relation between 16384K from 49152K/16384K and 16384K board system flash ?
