Hi All,

Think my other post got lost...i apologize if this shows up twice.

Will be getting this card for a subrate T3. will install this in a 3745.

i searched the group and saw a few different remarks to "clear channel" and also "channelized". are these different? i guess i am confused with the terms.

also, after i do the initial config to get the card to show up (card type), i can configure the ip settings directly on the serial interface as i would a T1 serial correct?

also, this card has an internal dsu, when the telco installs the line all i will need are two 75 ohm rg 59 cables that go directly to the card correct?

I am connecting ppp to a mpls cloud, will the following config snip work?

card type t3 1

!

controller t3 1/0

framing c-bit

linecode b8zs

cablelength <feet>

clock source line

dsu bandwidth 6000

!

!

interface Serial1/0

ip address x.x.x.x x.x.x.x

encap ppp

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

A channelised card lets you split up a T3 into individual T1s. This is obviously not a requirement for your case so this card should be fine.

You are indeed correct that all you need to do is plug in the cable from your telco.

Your configuration also looks okay - just verify that the linecoding and framing is the same as used by your provider or you will have problems bring up the line.

Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.

Howdy,

That command goes under the serial interface, not the controller.

Hope that helps - pls do rate the post if it does.

Thank you for your help, yet again. one question, I have seen conflicting information on where you should put the "dsu bandwidth" command. some papers say on the controller and some say on the serial int, does it matter? or is this just another cause of conflicting cisco papers?

thanks again.

Howdy,

That command goes under the serial interface, not the controller.
