I'm trying to figure out if there are any issues redistributing default route from EIGRP to BGP out a serial interface and then also receiving default route in same serial interface via BGP and redistributing back into EIGRP. Using different metric/Administrative distances. Seems like I read somewhere that when redistributing you should not advertise the same route into X if the same route originated from X.

Hello Deanna,
may you explain more clearly what are you going to do ?
Usually you should identify a core protocol and an edge protocol and only the edge protocol needs a default route towards the center.
Hope to help

I would suggest injecting routes into one protocol and have a static default set on the other router.

I finally arrived at the conclusion that I need to apply a floating static default route. But thank you for your comments.
