rate-limit to limit the bandwidth utilize in cisco routers

Hi guys,

We had an issue with our ISP as they reported that our bandwidth exceeds last month.

My question is how to limit our bandwdth from our cisco routers?

Should I use "rate-limit" command on the interface (GigabitEthernet0/1)?

We have a fixed line 10Mbps from our ISP.

Please advise and how what's the exact configuration?

You should use shaping, not rate limits. The latter has very adverse effects and must be avoided.

Other than that you can ask you network engineer, or cisco partner, to configure it.
