Redistribute connected with secondary IP addresses

Hi there

I was wondering what happens to a secondary IP address, when you redistribute connected interfaces into BGP. Do the IP get redistributed or not?

I believe (fear) it doesn't, but I'm not quite sure.

The secondary IP addresses get redistributed as well as the primary.

what would be Treatment, 

if one physical inter secondary ip add is given, but using also " ip ospf x area x second none".

and in Global OSPF process using " redistribute connected subnet" .

 

Will it prevent secondary to participate, am confused as on GNS while testing its not preventing secondaries to participate.

Sourav,

Be aware that command "ip ospf x area x secondaries none" apply to internal prefixes, so this address will "speak" OSPF. When you do "redistribute connected", these are prefixes connected that will be external prefixes and therefore this command of sec none does not apply here.

Thanks a lot for reply.

 

So as per nature of " Redistribute connected " router advertises prefixes as LSA-5.

although Router treats a secondary addresses as stub network.

so while we are using both command as last scenario will result on following output.

 

"we  will see secondary addresses as LSA-5 , but not as LSA 1 "

Please correct me if wrong.
