Hi ,

i am using cisco 2821 router  at the edge  in my  network  where the WAN link is terminated.

i want to configure  Redundancy  . So will 2821 support ? If yes  what is the another router .Is it the same series or different for redundant configuration.

Thanks,

Saroj

It can be any router. But 2800 series would be good.  Which redundancy mechanism are you planning for? Could you paste a diagram or something?

But to make it short any router would work 1800, 1900, 2800, 2900 so on..as unlike firewall it wont be maintaining the state information.

The Present Network Diagram  is like  at the edge  Cisco 2821 router where the link terminated.

Behind the Router the cisco ASA 5510  is connected  then the ASA is connected to the distribution Switch cisco 3560 where all the VLANS Configured .The L3 is connected to the Access Layer switches.

i need  Redundancy  at the edge using HSRP. Please advice.

Thanks,

Saroj
