Dear all,
Customer (CE) public AS 23xxx is peered with private AS (PE) 65xxx.
And private AS 65xxx is peering with Public AS 40xx for Internet.
I have removed private AS from the AS 40xx further connected Internet peers. But I can see the private AS on advertise routes.
eg. 202.51.x.x/24 65xxx 40xx i
In such scenario, how can I hide the private AS on the AS path.
help will be appreciated.

If the AS_PATH includes both private and public AS numbers, BGP doesn't remove the private AS numbers. This situation is considered a configuration error.
If the update has only private AS numbers in the AS_PATH, BGP removes these numbers.

Roman

Hi Roman,
Thanks for the response.
Is there any other way to hide the private AS? No problem whether prefixes with the AS set of 40xx or the same originate AS 23xxx.
Thank you,
Uttam
