Hi,
We are going to replace our existing core switch with a newer model, Could some one please share with me what are the best practices to perform this migration peacefully.
Thanks

Depends on what switch you currently have. Where are you located? Are you working with a Cisco SE and/or partner?
Typically when I think core switch, I think 6509...but it really depends on port density, features needed, connection types. Give me more info.

Thank you for the response, we are replacing 6500 with 6509-E on the same location and we are working with a partner.

Sounds like you're on the right track. 6509E is a great core switch.
