Replication issue."General network error. Check your network documentation"

Hi all. I am currently facing sql replication issues between 2 of my sites. I get the error "general network error. check your network documentation" in my server log. I would like to know if anyone face such a problem and what you would do to find the root of the problem. Thanks in advance.

the information u have given very general

and there is alot of posibalites that might stoping the replica

try follow the folowing steps to findout

first try to ping between servers if there is no ping

ping ur gateway to check ur connectivity

and if u have a firewall or any network device that might make ip filtering check its content and make sure no blocking to the traffic between ur servers especially sql ports and comunications

also check ur servers config and if u have any sort of software firewall that may block ur traffic

Hi marwanshawi. Thk you for your reply. I was told by my database administrator that replication could work on certain days but at times fail to work. I am suspecting whether if it is the high utilization of network traffic that caused this.
