RIP without a ping :/

Hi there,

I ve got a problem with 2 c3700 running IOS 12.3(4)T4.. Firstly the routing table couldnt be accepted (read the subnet thing that goes on when the broadcasts are sent) and i had to #no validate-update-source  but still i have no ping replies between them as unroutable...

Gateway of last resort is not set

     1.0.0.0/31 is subnetted, 2 subnets

R       1.0.0.0 [120/1] via 10.10.10.10, 00:00:01

C       1.1.1.2 is directly connected, Serial0/0

     2.0.0.0/24 is subnetted, 1 subnets

C       2.2.2.0 is directly connected, Loopback0

and

RIP without a ping :/

Hi Bob,

How is the topology of the routers? Are these two routers connected direct?

Finally, do you use RIP v2 (classless) or v1 (classfull)?

The IP addressing sheme seems to be not correct.

To the R2 router the route learned via RIP has as next hop the 1.1.1.2.

The 1.1.1.2 is the IP of the S0/0 of R1 but R2 has also the loopback 0 with IP 1.1.1.0.

I think you have to check your IP addressing.

Regards,

Vasilis
