Hi Luca,

There should be no difference, if you have this option. I do not have it on 12.4(24)T5.

As I see it the "ip" option was introduced to accomodate the "ipv6" option => set ipv6 next-hop.

Hi Luca,

The set next-hop is not available in route-map configuration in recent IOSes. It is possible that it was simply a predecessor of the current set ip next-hop command. So for Policy Based Routing using ordinary route-maps, you do not actually have any alternative, as the only command I saw available in 12.4T IOS was the set ip next-hop.

Best regards,

Peter
