Hi,
I accidentially removed deleted the IOS from a 1700 router, I havent reloaded yet so it's still up and working. Is there anyway I can restore whats been deleted? or do i need to download a replacement IOS and install a replacement IOS.

Hi Mac,
Once deleted its gone. You can check if your flash space is freed with that much space.
Good you have not reloaded the router yet.
So tftp the new IOS and make sure of your boot path and config reg value.

Thanks for the advice,
It's a 1700 and this is the output from the show flash.
System flash directory:

So i guess thats 8Mb right, obviously I try and get the most recent config i can is there anything else i should consider?

You can try udelete command... If you didnt use squeeze command it could be working

Hi Mac,
Check whether any IOS is present in flash using sh flash command.If there is no file then it would be better download the IOS and load it using tftp procedure.
Before reloading the router make sure that the config register value should be 0x2102.

Yes, You will be good to go with this. Just tftp it to the router and set the boot path to boot form the file, wr mem and you are good to go.
