Re: Router Restarted C-2500 ?????

Hello,

Issue the "show region" command. Verify if the address "0x149E12" is referenced as a valid region. In case it does match up it means the router received a bus error while accessing valid memory.

This could mean you are facing hardware problems. If the address does not match the region it could have been a software bug. Try upgrading to a more recent IOS that supports 8/8.

Re: Router Restarted C-2500 ?????

Bus error is invariably due to a bug. The problems you face now are (1) How to identify the bug? (2) Is there a more recent IOS that fixes the bug, bearing in mind that the 2500 was EoL a long time ago? (3) Is there any way you can work around the bug, e.g. by avoiding certain configuration options?

You need to tackle (1) first. Do you have the exact text of the error message? Is the problem repeatable, and if so under under any identifiable conditions? Is there any traceback information or a crashinfo file in he flash? With that information, you might find it in the bug database.

Re: Router Restarted C-2500 ?????

What did you change to the software configuration before the error occured?

What software version are you currently using?

Post "show version" output to start with.
