Re: router synchronization

Hello,

in addition to Ehsan's post, in a switch-to-router connection, and if the speed of the switch interface is higher than that of the router interface, which usually is the cause, packets will be buffered and queued in the router based on queuing mechanisms such as fair queueing, FIFO (first in first out), or policy queueing that you configure yourself. If the buffers are not sufficient, packets will be dropped, which you can usually see in the interface statistics of the router (e.g. show interfaces serial0).

Does that make sense ?

Regards,

GNT
