Hi! We've a main office that has a site to site VPN (internet going out thru corporate gw/proxy as well)to the corporate office. The main office is a flat network (with static route only). Currently we r thinking of connecting our 2 small branches to the main branch office with some kind of telco ip managed network. Is vlan and routing protocol a must. I would like to keep it simple with no vlan n routing protocol, how's the static route at each site shd be? Thx
You have to also plan for the WAN ip network. For example you can use 10.10.10.0/24 network for WAN purpose. You can keep the main site ip address as 10.10.10.10/24, branch a as 10.10.10.11/24and branch c as 10.10.10.12/24. At each branch router you have to add default route as "ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.10.10" and in the main router you have to add route as "ip route 192.168.11.0 255.255.255.0 10.10.10.11" to route to branch a and "ip route 192.168.12.0 255.255.255.0 10.10.10.12" to route to branch b.

Sure you can use static routes, especially on such a small network.
Assuming branches will only have one link to Main site, they would only need a single default route. Main site would need an additional static route for each branch.
