Routing Problem

Hi,

We are using cisco 3845 Router and have two redundant links. Interface Serial 2/0 has the first priority to send data . I have blocked “Host A” on Serial 2/0 , But other one interface (Serial 2/1) is opened for the particular host. But the host is not getting response from out of it's network. (Host can't reach to the destination)we are using OSPF Routing protocol.

Hello Jayesh,

is OSPF running on both serial links ?

with

>> have blocked “Host A” on Serial 2/0

means you have done a PBR rule to route packets with source = HostA to be routed out ser2/0 ?

or that you have made an ACL blocking that specific host out/in ser2/0 ?

I would suggest you to provide a filtered version of your configuration with the interesting parts

Hope to help

Giuseppe

hii,

YEs On Both Link OSPF Runnig ..

and

We are appled Standered access List in Router HAST A to be Routed out Se2/0..

Hello Jayesh,

so you are using PBR to send the packet with source hostA out ser2/0 ?

but what about the return path is only made with OSPF or there is a PBR also there ?

Hope to help

Giuseppe

you cannot use access-list applied to one interface for routing traffic through another.

In this case you should use PBR (policy based routing)
