If you do a standard ping it will default to use the primary interface IP as the source address. If extended ping specifying the source as 188.8.131.52 does work then it demonstrates that you have a route to the server and that the server has a route to 184.108.40.206. If a standard ping does not work, while you still have a route to the server it indicates that the server does not have a route to your primary IP address. I suggest that you check the server and whatever routers are in the path from the server to your 6506 and find which one(s) does not have a route to your address.
Does the network run a dynamic routing protocol or is it set up with static routes?
