Routing

I have a flash version of C2800NM-IPBASE-M on my router, would this cause any connectivity issues trying to add PC to a Microsoft Domain. By putting Advanced IP services on the Router would make a difference? Thanks for the help

Re: Routing

no, this would not impact the adding of a windows PC to the network.

the image supports IP and so does windows. as long as configuration of the router and PC are correct, this should be possible without issue.

if you have access-lists that are blocking certain ports/protocols that MS domain requires, then you may have an issue. verify this is not the case.

Re: Routing

Another issue I've had in the past is that, by default, Cisco adheres to a maximum DNS query datagram length of 512 bytes, and Microsoft often exceeds that limitation. without proper DNS support, AD fails.

On PIX/ASA devices, you have to increase the DNS max length to 1500 bytes. See if you have any issue re: that.
