I have an 12.2T train on my Cisco7500 as running IOS

My boot image is an 11 S train.

see below:

bb1-fi2#dir /all slaveslot0:

Directory of slaveslot0:/

1 -rw- 21166952 Nov 18 2005 12:12:23 rsp-jsv-mz.122-15.T17.bin

33161216 bytes total (11994136 bytes free)

bb1-fi2#dir /all bootflash:

Directory of bootflash:/

1 -rw- 5600876 Jan 01 2000 00:02:46 rsp-boot-mz.120-11.S3

there are relations between the boot image and the IOS image.

Do I plan a boot-image upgrade ?

Thanks to all

Hi,

You should always upgrade your rsp boot images when you upgrade IOS. It's recommended by cisco.

Cisco says "If the boot image and Cisco IOS? Software image do not match on the Cisco 7500 series router, some Versatile Interface Processors (VIPs) can be disabled"

I have deployed arround 30 7507 routers, I always put same boot and IOS image.

Hope this helps.
