RSVP packet trace

hi,

The RSVP rfc 2205 specifies in section 1.1 the RSVP data flow is classified on the basis 3 parameters namely

1.>destination address

2.>protocol id

3.>destination port

the 1st and 3rd parameters are fine but can any one explain the significance of the third parameter i.e protocol id.

attched is the trace file of rsvp packets.

during trace the protocol id field under the session rsvp object is set to 0x6 (this is a iana assignment for tcp)

so the question is that RSVP is itself a transport layer protocol and based on IP. so why is the protocol field set to tcp in the session field ???

and in general what is the significance of this field??
