RTP Header compression problem on 1601 on 12.2(15)T
I have a config including:
telco link to
The 1751 has voice software (12.4 advipserv) vic-2fxo, vic-2fxs and is connecte to a PABX.
The phone is a grandstream 102 using a G723 codec with 5.6 kbps bitrate.
Both the 1601s are on 12.2(15)T and interlinked with modems 33.6kbps speed. On these routers the dialer1/serial0 interface are configured to dial each other (actually the dialling is taken care by the modems with USRobotics security and dial back) and on both is enabled the ip rtp header-compression iphc-format command.
All is fine except typing sh ip rtp header-compression all stats for the header compression are at 0.
Therefore I must assume there is no compression taking place. (debug ip rtp header-compression gives no output while placing VoIP calls).
Any pointer? I could not find any on TAC and univercd. The 1601 is now unsupported so opening a TAC case seems not to be an option.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
