Good day,
I have a p2p wireless link, the manufacturer put the theorical bandwith to 48Mbps. I want to saturate the link, and mesure exactly the real bandwith; i try it with ftp expert but i can't sature with it. Some body has a method of saturation ?
Any suggest will be appreciated.
regards.

Multiple two way transfers both ways would definitely push the link to its maximum capacity. One way transfers are not an ideal way of measuring the throughput because of the way TCP/IP works.
Start 2 ftp transfers one way and do the same on the other end.
In addition you could also try ttcp to achieve similar results, check out this link

Howdy,
A great way of doing this is to use a tool such as IPERF which is capable of generating UDP streams, so that you don't run into the problem on TCP back-off etc.
Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.

No probs... just remember to use the '-u' option to get iperf to generate a UDP stream...

There is a little Windows utility called QCheck, originally written by NetIQ. You can download it from :
http://www.ixiacom.com/products/qcheck/
It provides a nice simple bandwidth measurement between two machines (latency as well). From my experience it seems fairly accurate. We've used it on everything from 100Mbps switched connections to DSL VPN connections.
