Saving config catalyst 4912g - copy run config startup config not supported

Hello,

Newbie to command line IOS.   I am trying to save a configuration change in an older switch.  However, the copy "running-config to startup-config" doesn't seemed to work or supported on a Catalyst4912G.  The bootstrap version is 5.1(2).  Hardware Version: 1.0  Model: WS-C5505

Does anyone have suggestions?

Under copy help are the following chocies?

-----------------------------------------------------------

Usage: copy file-id <tftp | rcp | flash | file-id | config>

       copy <tftp | rcp > <flash | file-id | config>

       copy flash <tftp | rcp | file-id | config>

       copy config <flash | file-id | tftp |rcp> [all]

file-id has the format of [[m/]device:][filename]

       (example of file-id : slot0:new_image, 1/bootflash:old_image)

4912G> (enable)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks in advance

Re: Saving config catalyst 4912g - copy run config startup confi

Hi,

this looks like CatOS.

Unlike IOS, there is only one config-file in CatOS. Changes are saved immediately and persist if you reboot the switch.

Yes that is the ancient Catos belongs to the original Catalyst switches .. In this case the ws-c5500 series modular chassis. Edit : WS-C4912G is a fixed 1.5 ru switch has the same supervisor build in inside i guess ... Same Catos dough

In the default binairy config mode there is no need to save config. All you type is saved automatically . When using text mode you can perform a write mem
