hi, i want to know if authentication proxy feature that is available on cisco IOS firewall is use only for HTTP,HTTPS,TELNET and SSH. if an external user need to access to a service that no support authentication such as multimedia application, can i use auth-proxy again ? thank for help

The Cisco IOS Firewall authentication proxy feature allows network administrators to apply specific security policies on a per-user basis.Users can be identified and authorized on the basis of their per-user policy, and access privileges tailored on an individual basis are possible, as opposed to general policy applied across multiple users. I think that authentication proxy feature is used only for services that support authentication.for more info refer:

Hi,
the answer is yes. HTTP, HTTPS, TELNET, SSH only. Should you need to restrict anything else perhaps you cpuld employ a third party application like Websense protocol filer.
