Serial interface configured with backup interface command

Hello,

I have scenario where I have primary connectivity to service provider via serial interface and serial interface is configured with the backup interface on it. We have ISDN backup connectivity on that router to back up the serial interface. On the same router we have HSRP configured with the tracking of serial interface. So my question is if my serial interface will go down then it will fire the ISDN connectivity but what will be the status of my HSRP? will this router remain as a active or will turn to Standby if serial goes down and ISDN fired up?

regards

Re: Serial interface configured with backup interface command

Outcome will depend on how are your HSRP priorities configured.

If backup router HSRP priority makes it better when Serial on Primary router fails, then Backup router will become Primary regardless of ISDN fired up or not.

Can we see some of the HSRP configuration ?

Sam
