Serial Interface gets hung; needs a reboot to fix this.
I would be extremely grateful to have your insight on this.
We are using a VSAT link which connects to the Serial Interface of the Router at both ends of the VSAT link. We are seeing issues that sometimes due to interference the link goes down as is expected. But once the device that causes the interference is removed, the link stays down and the router needs a reboot to get the interface up and working again. Any advice why this could be happening and what could be done to fix this. I have seen similar issues before when interference causes the link to go down but the Serial interface comes up automatically as soon as the source of interference is removed.
For your information the Router details is as follows:
NAME: "2811 chassis", DESCR: "2811 chassis"
PID: CISCO2811 , VID: V06 , SN: FCZ131772ZC
NAME: "WAN Interface Card - Serial 2T on Slot 0 SubSlot 0", DESCR: "WAN Interface Card - Serial 2T"
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
