Serial is reset

What is the meaning of " serial is reset " when you type " sho inter ser command " ?

Serial is reset line protocol is Down

Hi

I feel you are checking the serial interface which is basically a E1 Controller card.

If thats the case it really means the line connected to the interface has gone down.will suggest to get the line checked to get your interface back to up status..

otherwise inteface resets means that line connected on the serial port is flapping or fluctuating which actually results in interface resets.

Get the link checked for reliability and errors which will help to avoid and reduce the resets.
