Serial PPP w/ CHAP : Re-Authentication period?

I've read in several places that PPP with CHAP will periodically reauthenticate the peer device.

The question was posed to me, and I can't find the answer.... how often by default does CHAP reauthenticate it's peer device? The example network is a point-to-point serial link.

The Chap re authentication at 900 second intervals causes the PPP state to change from up state to authentication state.
