I was searching cisco's site and found this page.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_3/iproute/command/reference/ip2_s2g.html#wp1091138

When the sh ip bgp nei comman is issued

there are 2 network entries for for bgp neighbors that are configured. However I dont quite understand the State/PfxRcd

entry. The first has a number of 23 under it. The second has a number of 0

Does this mean that the first neighbor is advertising 23 network routes to my router. and the 2nd neighbor is advertising 0 ?

Hi,

The correct general explanation is that the local router received 23 prefix from 10.100.1.1 BGP peer/neighbor and received nothing from 10.200.1.1 BGP peer/neighbor.

The neighbor/s maybe advertising more to the local router but it depends on the local router configuration (filter) on the number of prefixes it received.

Regards,

Dandy
