show isdn status output

Hi

What does this message mean when I do a show isdn status on the BRI interface of my ISDN BRI link? Please see below.

xxxx_1841#sh isdn status

Global ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3

ISDN BRI0/1/0 interface

dsl 2, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-net3

Layer 1 Status:

DEACTIVATED

Layer 2 Status:

Layer 2 NOT Activated

Layer 3 Status:

0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)

Active dsl 2 CCBs = 0

The Free Channel Mask: 0x00000000

Total Allocated ISDN CCBs = 0

Hello Bernardette,

this means your BRI is not working at all because ISDN layer 1 is deactivated

check the switch type you should use: be aware that basic-net3 is good for Europe only.

Ask the ISDN provider what switch type to use

if basic-net3 is fine check the cable
