Slow CLI response

We have a cisco 2620 (non XM) with 16mb flash and 32mb dram, we have ip plus ios installed, the router booted up ok and we started to configure this from scratch, however, when we type anything in there is a 2 second delay before it appears on the screen.

this is in a test lab and not live router

Re: Slow CLI response

Dear CME,

It's seems to be lack of memeory issue, i think the new IOS requered more memory, kindly use

Router#show mem sum

and check out the used/free memory space on your router, also you must check the IOS flash/Memory REQ before upgrading the router.

Best Regards,

Mounir Mohamed

Re: Slow CLI response

double check the console cable as well as the 9 pin connector if it is separate from the cable.

also check the terminal settings, baud rate, flow control, etc. 9600, 8, n, 1, none should be fine.
