Hi, We have a 10mg Long Haul Ethernet connetion between two sites. We have set up seperate Vlans and sub interfaces with the relevant configurations with RIP routing. Connectivity is fine except that FTP file transfer is really slow. When we remove the Router config and configure a Linux box to do the routing for us it works perfectly. The Router port is connected to an HP switch and is showing no errors at all. Any ideas?

Hello Steve,
do you see any collisions on the ports connecting the Cisco router and the HP switch ? If so, you might want to try and set the speed and duplex to 100/full, if possible.
Also, do you have CEF ('ip cef' globally) enabled on the Cisco router ?
Can you post the configuration of your Cisco router ?

GP

Thanks for your response.
There are no collisions and IP CEF is enabled.

GP,
Removing IP cef and then adding it seemed to fix this problem.

Hello Steve,
odd, sounds like a bug. Which IOS version are you running ?
Luckily it works now...
