SMTP Problems with new 871W Router

Anyone got any ideas?

I replaced a netgear router with a Cisco 871W.

The only problem is everytime I send a email to the mail server behind the router I get the following NDR.

Your message

To: user@domain.com

Subject: 9:15

Sent: Sat, 3 Dec 2005 09:16:57 -0000

did not reach the following recipient(s):

user@domain.com on Sat, 3 Dec 2005 09:17:54 -0000

You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator.

<smtp-out6.blueyonder.co.uk #5.7.1 smtp;501 5.7.1 This system is not configured to relay mail from <sender@blueyonder.com> to <user@domain.com> for smtp-out6.blueyonder.co.uk>

I had to spoof the mac addres of the old router in order to avoid changing DNS records. It has the correct IP address.

If you try to telenet to port 25 it fails with the cisco router but with the Negear back in place it works fine.

Anyone any ideas please?

To the best of my knowledge, tthe problem will be in the router or in the mail server. Check the access list which may block the port 25 and remove all the access list if possible in the router. check the services enabled in your client pc and your server.
