I have read that :

"If router interfaces are configured in sparse mode only, a static RP address must also configured".

Can anyone recommend a document that authentiacte above ?

Thanks

Could you please post the link again

Auto-RP would actually require sparse-dense-mode if no static RP configured, wouldn't it?. But BSR feature could work even with sparse-mode.

Correct.

Hi,

This is not absolutely true. you can configure sparse-mode and still run dynamically learned RP (Auto-RP).

This was made possible by the introduction of the global command "ip pim autorp listener" it allows you to run auto-rp with sparse-mode.
