SSO redundancy

HI all,

Here is the situation, we have a 7304 PE router with an ATM interface. After some changes on it suddenly restared the Standby Processor, here is the output:

Sep 28 13:42:47: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by XPRL0002 on vty3 (172.26.27.101)

Sep 28 13:42:58: Config Sync: Line-by-Line sync verifying failure on command:

Sep 28 13:43:00: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet2/0, changed state to down

Sep 28 13:43:00: %WS_ALARM-6-INFO: ASSERT CRITICAL GigabitEthernet2/0 Physical Port Link Down

Sep 28 13:43:00: %OSPF-5-ADJCHG: Process 100, Nbr 10.9.128.67 on GigabitEthernet2/0 from FULL to DOWN, Neighbor Down: Interface down or detached

Sep 28 13:43:00: %PIM-5-NBRCHG: neighbor 10.9.128.185 DOWN on interface GigabitEthernet2/0 (vrf default) non DR

Sep 28 13:43:02: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet2/0, changed state to up

Sep 28 13:43:03: %PIM-5-DRCHG: DR change from neighbor 0.0.0.0 to 10.9.128.186 on interface GigabitEthernet2/0 (vrf default)

Sep 28 13:43:10: %OSPF-5-ADJCHG: Process 100, Nbr 10.9.128.67 on GigabitEthernet2/0 from LOADING to FULL, Loading Done

Sep 28 13:43:11: %LDP-5-NBRCHG: LDP Neighbor 10.9.128.65:0 is DOWN (Discovery Hello Hold Timer expired)

Sep 28 13:43:19: %BGP-5-ADJCHANGE: neighbor 10.9.251.42 vpn vrf VPN_SAN Down BGP Notification sent

Sep 28 13:43:19: %BGP-3-NOTIFICATION: sent to neighbor 10.9.251.42 4/0 (hold time expired) 0 bytes

Sep 28 13:43:19: %BGP-5-ADJCHANGE: neighbor 10.9.251.54 vpn vrf VPN_SAN Down BGP Notification sent

The thing is that all the ATM connections were lost, I don't know why if the Primary Processor was working fine.

One more thing, the Secondary Processor came back in RPR mode, having in the "sh runn" configuration the SSO mode... because of this the module appears as Standby Cold, forcing us to reload it with the "hw-module standby reset" then it came back in SSO mode (Standby Hot).

Why a behaviour like that?

Any idea?

Thx a lot in advance.

cheers,

Re: SSO redundancy

If it not an issue with an ATM card is mainly an issue with an IOS.Try upgrading IOS to the version 12.2(27)SBC5 to the router c7304.

Re: SSO redundancy

That's the one running on the box, we just upgrade from SBC2 to SBC5 two weeks ago.
