Static Routes Named

Hello Guys,

I have a doubt regarding static routes with nex-hop appointed, the name given in the route serves as a reference for other routing instances or simply serves to describe the nex-hop?

Sample:

ip route 20.0.0.0 255.255.255.252  10.0.0.1  name  NETWORK-A

Static Routes Named

Hi,

'name' for identifying the purpose of static route.Incase if you have many static routes, you can issue 'name' to identitify purpose of each static route (to what network/destination etc)

Static Routes Named

As MS states, the name is really nothing more than an identifier on the local box.
