I have a lab with 4 routers connected in a square formation. The two routers at the top of the "square" (R1 and R3) are not directly connected; they are connected through a Tunnel interface. I'm running EIGRP in this topology and everything works well. I have added an offset-list to the link between R2 and R4, in order to make traffic arriving at R3 or R1 use the tunnel rather than go to R2 or R4 first. Everything is working just fine.
What i'm confused by is this:
172.16.1.1 (Tunnel100), from 172.16.1.1, Send flag is 0x0 Composite metric is (3328/3072), route is External Vector metric: Minimum bandwidth is 1000000 Kbit Total delay is 30 microseconds Reliability is 255/255 Load is 1/255 Minimum MTU is 1476 Hop count is 2 Originating router is 18.104.22.168 External data: AS number of route is 0 External protocol is Static, external metric is 0 Administrator tag is 0 (0x00000000
22.214.171.124 (GigabitEthernet1.13), from 126.96.36.199, Send flag is 0x0 Composite metric is (3428/3172), route is External Vector metric: Minimum bandwidth is 1000000 Kbit Total delay is 33 microseconds Reliability is 255/255 Load is 1/255 Minimum MTU is 1500 Hop count is 2 Originating router is 188.8.131.52
Where is the extra 3 microseconds of total delay coming from in the Gi1.13 received route? The delay and bandwidth have been manually adjusted to be equal across all interfaces. The route in question is a static route and is pointed at an interface, advertised from R2. This topology command is run from the perspective of R3. The composite metric is correct, but I can't ascertain why the total delay is 3 microseconds higher.
I think the reason i'm confused is that the offset list, if set to something like 100, seems to influence the total delay of the value reported in show ip eigrp topology rather than just the composite metric. Is this the correct behavior?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
j ai une question j ai achete un routeur cisco 887VA-k9 , je le configuré avec la configuration ci- dessous
